ELEGIES: A SONG CYCLE

Venue: The Berkeley Street Theatre Upstairs (26 Berkeley Street,
Toronto)
Rehearsals: January 23rd-February 14th (Tuesday-Thursday late
afternoons/evenings and weekends)
Production Run: February 15th-March 3rd, 2007

Acting Up Stage is entering its third year of operations with ELEGIES: A
SONG CYCLE, having produced the Canadian Premier of Jonathan Larson's
TICK, TICK...BOOM! and the Toronto premiere of Andrew Lippa's JOHN &
JEN. The company is dedicated to presenting contemporary,
thought-provoking musical theatre that inspires new generations of
audiences.

Through 20 stories of loss, the groundbreaking musical, ELEGIES,
explores death in a post 9-11 world by celebrating those who have passed
on and showcasing all of the infinite joys that life has to offer. Often
hilarious, always touching, and very poignant, William Finn (Tony Award
winning composer of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and
Falsettos) crafts a thought-provoking musical, reminding us that the
living is the prize, and the ending is not the story.

Audition Information
We are seeking performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds to
audition. Auditions will be held on Sunday, September 10th and Monday,
September 11th. 

Please note that this production is applying to engage Equity artists
through the Independent Artists Projects Policy ("Indie").

All artists will be play a number of different roles and must be very
skilled actor/singers.

Seeking The Following Roles
Male 1 - Baritone (low A to F) - mid 30s to 50s
Male 2 - Tenor (low G to high A) - early 30s to 40s
Male 3 - Lyric baritone/tenor (C to high G) - early 20s to 30s
Female 1 - Mezzo with belt/mix (low G to E) - late 20s to early 40s
