Talk Is Free Theatre in Barrie is inviting submissions for the role of
Derek for its production of STAGEFRIGHT, musical by Jim Betts, Miriam
Fond and Catherine Knights.

The contract dates are from May 28 to June 24, 2007 (with a possibility
of one-week extension to July 1, 2007).

Role Description: Derek as baritone - 30ish, energetic, enthusiastic,
empathetic, often befuddled.  Derek may have been an ingenue when he was
18 - 24 but would likely be developing as a comic, character actor as he
enters his thirties.  At times he is endearing, comical, amusing,
flirtatious, playful, imaginative and would like to consider himself
attractive to women but accepts that he no longer plays in the big
league romantically.  He still cares about his ex-wife, Trudy, and we
could believe that he was a slightly hyperactive, class clown in his
youth.
