Hosted by Winston Morgan, S.M.Arts is a one of a kind conference for
both experienced and new stage managers. The Conference will explore
many aspects of stage management and offer the opportunity to share
experiences and knowledge whether during a class or in the midst of a
chat. The S.M.Arts conference provides the stage management community
with an opportunity to come together for professional development and
the opportunity for a group of like-minded individuals to meet others
and exchange ideas and network.
S.M.Arts offers courses taught by professional instructors. This year's
conference includes classes such as:
- Preparing a resume
- Calling a Show
- Scheduling and Planning
- Safety
- Canadian Theatre Agreement
- TYA
- Opera
- Musicals
- Industrials
- Special Events
- Film
- Reading Music
- Giving Notes
- Calling a Show
As in past years, S.M.Arts will be offering a conference pass which
allows the participant to attend all of the courses for a substantially
reduced rate.
Winston Morgan has been stage managing in Canada for twenty-four years
and has had the opportunity to work in a variety of situations including
small, medium and large theatres across Canada, as well as festival and
