MEMBER MEETINGS - OTTAWA & MONTREAL

On October 25th, 2005 Equity's national Council adopted changes to the Association's governance structure and amended the By-Laws of the Association. Council also endorsed a motion to amend the size of Council. The change to Equity's Constitution requires a national referendum, scheduled for early 2006. 

Equity has scheduling member meetings across Canada to discuss the impact of these structural changes, the Constitutional referendum to reduce the size of Council and plans for member elections next year.

Member meetings in 2006 are scheduled for:

OTTAWA - Sunday, January 8 - 6:00 p.m. - Arts Court Library, 2 Daly Avenue

MONTREAL - Monday, January 9 - 6:30 p.m. - Playwrights' Workshop, 4324 Boul. St-Laurent

Each meeting will be an opportunity to find out more about the upcoming referendum and policy governance structure. Henry Gauthier, Equity President and Susan Wallace, Executive Director will be on hand to discuss issues relating to governance and the upcoming referendum. A question and answer session will be included in each meeting.

All Equity members in good standing, probationary and provisional members and apprentices are urged to attend.
