EQUIFLASH - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR STATUS CONFIRMED

FEDERAL COURT OF CANADA RULES ON RWB APPEAL 

In a decision rendered today in the Federal Court of Canada, the
independent contractor status of dancers at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet
was upheld. The Court overturned a previous decision rendered June 4th
2004 by the Tax Court of Canada that held that the dancers at the ballet
were employees.

The full text of the decision has yet to be made public, but this news
for the performing arts community marks turning point in a decades-long
struggle.
