General Manager Position

Mixed Company, a not-for-profit theatre organization located in downtown
Toronto is currently seeking a General Manager. This is a long-term
full-time position available immediately. The applicant should be highly
organized, able to multi-task, and able to work independently. Financial
expertise and communication skills, both written and verbal, are very
important. The applicant should have a passion for work that produces
positive social change and be able to work with socially diverse groups.


Duties will include managing the office, writing grants and reports,
bookkeeping and liaising with artists as well as the general public.
Fundraising skills would be asset for this position as well as the
ability to find new sources of funding for the company. The General
Manager should be able to write contracts and other important materials
under pressure of deadlines. Knowledge of the intricacies of theatre
production with at least 3-5 years working in a related field is
required. The applicant should be computer literate and have a
familiarity with Macintosh systems as well as Simply Accounting
software. The Company is also planning to upgrade their computers and
the applicant should be able to learn new software easily.
