Artistic Director for Workshop West Theatre - Closing date June 2, 2006

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Artistic
Director. As the ideal applicant, your passion, energy and enthusiasm
for Canadian theatre will guide your artistic decisions, and you will
work in an informed, fiscally responsible manner. 

Responsibilities:
-Selecting plays according to your unique understanding of Canadian
theatre for each Workshop West Theatre season.
-Directing plays and productions, or engaging visiting directors to do
so.
-Providing a forum for playwright development.
-Reviewing and acknowledging receipt of new play submissions.
-Contributing to all funding submissions, fund-raising activities and
promotions to highlight the brand of Workshop West Theatre.
-Working closely with the General Manager to ensure that budgets are
met.
-Reporting to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.

Qualifications: 
-University degree(s) in Fine Arts, or equivalent experience.
-Extensive experience in Canadian theatre.
-Exceptional creative skills.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Starting date and salary are negotiable.
