EQUIFLASH [2007 INTERNATIONAL DIRECTORS' MASTERCLASS]

The Directors and Choreographers Committee of Canadian Actors' Equity
Association is pleased to announce the return of the International
Directors Masterclass in June 2007. Previously held as part of the
duMaurier World Stage Festival, the International Directors Masterclass
will provide Canadian theatre artists with the opportunity to work with
some of the leading directors in the world, as well as to collaborate
with fellow colleagues from across the country.

Sponsored by Canadian Actors' Equity Association, in partnership with
the Magnetic North Festival and the University of Ottawa, the
International Directors Masterclass will be held in Ottawa during the
2007 Magnetic North Festival. The Masterclass is open to professional or
mid-career directors, or established professional theatre artists
wanting to make the transition to directing. The Masterclass will take
place June 6 - 16, with three master directors leading the group over
three or four days, for a total of 10 days of classes.

Sixteen Equity members will be accepted into the program, and two
non-Equity directors and six auditors will also be offered places. The
three-person selection committee will be chosen from representatives
from Canadian Actors' Equity Association, the Magnetic North Festival
and the University of Ottawa. Strong preference will be given to
applicants who have directed professionally and the chosen participants
will reflect a diversity of regional representation.

Fees for the Masterclass are as follows:
Equity Members (in good standing) $600
Non-Equity Members $800
Auditors $400
Fees for Equity members' participation is subsidized. 

Travel and accommodation subsidies are also available to Equity members
only. Fees also include artist standby tickets for all Magnetic North
Productions.

Selection of participants will be made by the end of December and
notification of acceptance will take place within one week.
