AUDITION - KEMBLE/TORONTO/OWENSOUND

Sheatre is accepting submissions for TOM an original musical by Joan
Chandler and David Sereda, directed by Mark Cassidy.
A promising artist's ferocious drive compels him to risk his friends,
security, sanity and his life to paint the true north - the Canada he
loves.   Based on the life and art of Tom Thomson from 1912- 1917.  

Three week contract:  July 16 - August 5, 2007  in Owen Sound.  This is
a semi-professional project.

ROLES:
Tom Thomson - late 30's to early 40's.  Tenor.  Artist, outdoorsman.  On
his way to becoming a brilliant, edgy painter. 

Ensemble playing multiple roles (artists, park rangers, cottagers,
critics, etc.):
1 male (tenor) British accents, 30 - 50;  1 female (soprano)  20's -
early 30's; 3 males (baritones - tenors) age 30 - 50. 

Audition Location:  TBA, Owen Sound
Audition Dates: Thursday, May 24
Audition Location:  TBA, Toronto
Audition Dates: Thursday, May 29

Audition Instructions:  2 musical theatre songs (one upbeat, one ballad,
no longer than 2 minutes); 1-2 min. monologue / improv of your own
creation; a cold reading from the play.  

Deadline for submissions:  Monday, May 14.
