JOB - BUSINESS MANAGER/PRODUCER - VANCOUVER

Electric Company Theatre Society is currently seeking applications for
the role of Business Manager/Producer. This is a full-time contract
position for 18 months beginning November 1, 2007 with the option to
renew.  

Electric Company is a vital creation-based theatre company in Vancouver
entering its twelfth season. Known for its physical and visual style,
ambitious scale of work, theatrical magic and eye-popping spectacle, the
company develops, creates and produces new work with a core ensemble of
artists. The recipient of 28 Jessie Awards, the company has successfully
toured in Canada and abroad as well as creating an extensive body of
work for its local audiences.  

The Business Manager/Producer is responsible for facilitating the
artistic programming and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the
organization. With several exciting projects ahead for the Electric
Company, this is a dynamic position, flexible to candidates' respective
strengths and experience.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of arts
administration, fund development, grant writing, communications and
marketing, as well as an in-depth understanding of theatre production
and the operations of a non-profit society.

The Business Manager/Producer: 
works with the company's artistic directors to execute the programming
of each season
oversees the operating budget and individual project budgets
manages communication between company and stakeholders
networks on behalf of the organization
manages day to day company administration

Salary range is 35,000 - 50,000 and commensurate with experience.
