2007 STAGE WEST - EQUITY EMERGING THEATRE ARTIST AWARD

In 2007, Equity will once again award one of its emerging members with a
cheque for $2,000 in recognition of their professionalism, artistic
excellence and innovation. 

The award, adjudicated by Equity's Honours Committee, will be announced
in late October 2007 in the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Stage West - Equity Emerging Theatre Artist Award is made possible
as the result of a $25,000 donation from Stage West Theatres and the
Pechet family in honour of Equity's silver anniversary in 2001.

Award Criteria:
- The award will be given to an Equity theatre artist who has been a
member of the association for less than three years. For 2007, the
artist must have joined Equity after January 1st, 2004.
- The artist must demonstrate: professionalism, artistic excellence and
innovation within their craft.
- Qualifying artists must be full members of Canadian Actors' Equity
Association in good standing.

Application Process:
Eligible artists may put forward their own names, or be nominated by
another Equity member, or by a Theatre. Each application must include
the following:
- Artist's resume.
- A one-page letter of support from a maximum of three theatre
professionals (e.g. Equity member, Theatre manager or playwright).
- Applicant's full address, email and telephone number, and the address
and telephone number of the supporting theatre professional(s).
- Applications may also include additional documentation to a maximum of
five pages. No video will be accepted. Please do not send original
documents as materials submitted cannot be returned.
- Applications must be post-marked by August 31st, 2007.
- The decision of the selection committee is final.
