The Georgian Theatre Festival is accepting submissions for its' 2007
Summer Season.  

A Bench In the Sun by Ron Clark
Long-time friends Harold and Burt live in a retirement home and spend
their days on a bench in the garden, bickering.  A once famous actress
moves into the home, giving the two love-struck seniors something new to
fight over.

ROLES TO BE CAST
Harold - Senior Citizen.  Suave, urbane, fancies himself quite the
ladies man, dresses with flair.  Has some comedic mobility problems an
walks with a cane.  A wit.

Burt - Senior Citizen.  Cranky, blunt, impatient and waiting to die.
Walks around the home in his pyjamas.  Steals from other residents.

Adrienne - Senior Citizen.  A former movie star and beauty queen.  A
flirt who uses her femininity to get what she wants.  She keeps getting
thrown out of retirement communities for causing problems.

Four Week Contract from June 18 to July 14, 2007.

Mama's Record Collection - A Country Musical Revue
A new revue featuring country and western songs from the 60s and 70s.
The story focuses on the dysfunction between a woman and her father, and
how they build their relationship through music that mom loved.

ROLES TO BE CAST
Caitlin - late 20s to mid-30s.  Mezzo with a strong belt. A single mom
with a tough exterior.  Following the death of her mom and the breakdown
of her marriage, not to mention the loss of her dog, she yearns to come
back home and build a new life.

Bruce - late 40s to mid-50s.  Baritone.  Plays guitar.  A grieving
widower factory worker who doesn't understand his daughter or the
choices she has made.  Wants to sell the family home, but is afraid to
let go of the comfort there.

Five Week Contract from July 16 to August 18, 2007

Auditions will be held in Toronto in late April.

The Georgian Theatre Festival is a member of PACT and engages under the
Canadian Theatre Agreement.  

The Georgian Theatre Festival is entering it's 12th Season of
professional theatre.  The 2007 season is being presented at  The Roxy
Theatre in downtown Owen Sound.
