SOUND OF MUSIC AUDITION - AMENDED NOTICE - TORONTO

Recently a notice was from Stephanie Goring Casting regarding auditions
for "Sound of Music" was distributed with a past due deadline supplied
by the casting company. 

Equity has arranged for the deadline for submissions to be extended to
November 29 in order to accommodate Equity members who want to audition.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: Equity asks for two to three weeks advance notice
from any engager wanting to post an audition notice. The intent of this
deadline is to not only give Equity members sufficient time to see a
posting, but also enough time to put together and submit required
information.

Unfortunately engagers often don't meet the required notice period.
Equity receives many audition calls with very little notice provided.
Prior to sending out an e-drive audition posting, the Association
undertakes a rigorous internal screening process ensuring Equity
contracts will be in place to protect the rights of our members. This
process often takes only a day or two instead of the "up to two weeks"
as is indicated in our e-drive guidelines. 

Equity processes e-drive notices as quickly as possible so that our
membership has the information necessary in a timely fashion. In the
case of last minute notices, an minimum of 24 hours is required, at the
discretion of the communications department.
