JOB - ARTISTIC PRODUCER - TORONTO

The Summerworks Theatre Festival is hiring an Artistic Producer for its
upcoming 2008 festival in Toronto. 

This contract position requires a motivated, responsible,
detail-oriented individual who is able to clearly articulate and execute
an exemplary artistic vision. Strong leadership and organizational
skills are a must. Knowledge of SummerWorks and the Toronto Theatre
community is an asset.  

Among other things, the Artistic Producer determines the artistic
direction of the Festival; selection of participants, jury members, and
key staff; negotiating supplier and rental contracts; overseeing staff;
and ensuring the smooth, successful, operation of the Festival.  

Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Artistic Producer is
also responsible for writing and submitting grant applications on behalf
of the Festival, as well as budget planning, tracking and reporting.  

The successful applicant will be expected to start immediately.   Work
takes place part-time year-round, with full-time hours required leading
up to the Festival in August. 

Applicants are requested to submit a cover letter and resume no more
than three pages long. Please include a salary expectation within your
cover letter. Applications will be accepted by email only. 

Applicants selected for an interview will receive a more detailed
package of information regarding the Festival prior to meeting with the
Board of Directors.  

Interviews will be 45 minutes long and will be held on Saturday,
December 15, 2007.

The submission deadline is Friday, December 7, 2007 at 5 p.m. (Toronto
time)
