Chemainus Theatre Festival Society is inviting applications for the
position of Producing Artistic Director.

The Chemainus Theatre Festival is a vital regional not-for-profit
theatre company.  The only professional producing company on Vancouver
Island, The Chemainus Theatre Festival focuses primarily on the
classics, and is known for its productions of plays from both the
historical and modern inventory.  These include plays or adaptations by
Canadian playwrights.  Celebrated for a warm and welcoming environment,
the Theatre provides employment for emerging and established theatre
practitioners. The Chemainus Theatre Festival seeks a new Producing
Artistic Director who, in conjunction with the Managing Director, will
direct and oversee all aspects of its theatre operations.  The new
Producing Artistic Director will possess extensive theatre experience be
able to articulate a strong artistic vision.  The successful candidate
will have proven acting/directing skills, leadership and administrative
acumen, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  The new
Producing Artistic Director will have experience working with governing
boards and most importantly, a heart for the Chemainus Theatre Festival
core values. This is a full-time salaried position beginning January,
