REMINDER - S.M.Arts CONFERENCE 2008 BEGINS FEBRUARY 28TH (TORONTO)
------------------------------
The 12th annual Stage Managing the Arts (S.M.Arts) Conference will take
place February 28 & 29 and March 1-4 & 6-10 in Toronto.
The 2008 Conference brochure and complete course schedule is available
at http://www.caea.com/Equityweb/Regions/StageManagement/SMArts.aspx or
email smartsconference at gmail.com for more information.
S.M.Arts Conference Director Winston Morgan hosts a series of seminars
exploring the many aspects of the craft of stage management. These
sessions provide a comfortable environment for new or experienced stage
managers to hone their skills.
The Conference is designed for both the student stage manager who wants
to know more about their career choice and the experienced stage manager
who is looking for diversification within their field.
S.M.Arts is pleased to announce a new Master Class program featuring the
art of presenting a ballet. Other new courses include the stage
manager's relationship with the wardrobe department, reading plans
(interpreting groundplans and taping a rehearsal hall floor) and
production stage managers' duties in a repertory setting.
Equity is a key S.M.Arts sponsor as part of the Association's
professional development mandate.
As in past years, S.M.Arts will be offering a conference pass which
allows a participant to attend all of the courses for a substantially
reduced rate.
The Apprenticeship Trust Fund Fundraiser party will be held on Monday,
March 10th. Please email smarts at interlog.com for further information.
