TORONTO AUDITIONS: JULY 21 & 22, 2008

IN THIS WORLD
A new production by Toronto playwright Hannah Moscovitch

Production synopsis: Bijou and Neyssa wait in detention together after getting into a vicious fight at school. As the girls confront each other about what happened, their pre-conceptions about nationality, race, poverty and most of all sexuality are laid to waste.  

In This World explores the challenges girls face as they learn to express their identity in our multi-cultural, media-saturated, post-feminist society.

2 Actors required: Must be able to convincingly portray high school students. Do not submit children. Youtheatre works with professionally trained actors.  Equity and non-Equity members may apply.

Bijou: Caucasian, 16 years old female.

Neyssa: Afro-Canadian, 16 years old female.

Production dates: 			Montreal, 6 week contract
Rehearsals: 				February 23 - March 14, 2009
Théâtre Calixa-Lavallée:		March 16 - 20, 2009
TYA School Tour:			March 23 - April 3, 2009

The play will be directed by Youtheatre's Artistic Director, Michel Lefebvre.
