JOB - ACCOUNTING MANAGER - TORONTO

Soulpepper Theatre Company: Immediate full-time position available for
an Accounting Manager
THE POSITION
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will manage
all accounting processes and be involved in the day to day financial
operations for both Soulpepper and the Young Centre. This is a fast
paced environment with multiple deadlines that requires a hands-on,
detail oriented individual who can juggle the role of team leader and
team member. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee all aspects of financial accounting including A/P,
Payroll, Revenue (including weekly box office settlements), General
Ledger and ensure all necessary systems are in place for proper internal
control
Supervise two staff members including review of all payment
processing
Ensure compliance with all statutory government filings
Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reporting,
including variance analysis and processing of journal entries
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and other account analysis
Benefits administration
Lead responsibility for financial database management
Administer the year-end audit requirements
Provides back up to Finance staff positions
Assist in the areas of budgeting, cash flow management,
investments
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:
Strong knowledge of financial management issues in the
charitable sector
Extensive knowledge of financial database management, and
hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV
Advanced awareness of payroll and benefits administration, and
hands-on experience with ADP payroll system
Superior proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook
Proven skills and knowledge in financial statement preparation
and analysis
Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent planning, organizational, time-management and team
building skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with multiple
deadlines
Education/Experience:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting and professional accounting
designation (CGA or CMA) or in final stages
Five + years accounting experience and minimum 2-3 years
supervisory experience, with recent experience in the not-for-profit
sector
