CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - TORONTO

*Call for submissions received very close to deadline*

Optic Heart Theatre is now accepting resumes for their production of
CRUSH by Hume Baugh at the Summerworks Festival which runs from August
7-17, 2008. CRUSH is the story of three friends in a small Ontario city.
After Martin moves into Ronny and Sandra's trailer park, three lives are
changed irrevocably. Based on a true story in which an ostensibly
straight man shot and killed the gay man who had declared his crush on
him on an episode of The Jenny Jones Show (which was never broadcast). 

CRUSH will be directed by Mark Cassidy. Rehearsals will begin in early
July. Auditions will be held mid-May.

We are casting the following roles:

SANDRA SUMPTER: late twenties-mid-thirties, secretary in insurance
office, drinker, smoker, small town, low income, fan of daytime talk
shows.

MARTIN REDPATH: mid-twenties, drinker, small town, restless, troubled,
looking for closeness.

Friday May 23.

Equity members participating in this production will be signed to a
Fringe application and all net proceeds from the production will be
divided equally among the participants.
