New West Theatre will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2009. With a
seven production season and annual attendance of 30 000, the company is
well-positioned for growth and is searching for a dynamic General
Manager to help guide the company into the future.

Collaborating with the Artistic Director and reporting to the Board of
Directors, the General Manager is responsible for all aspects of
administrative management, fundraising, publicity and marketing and
serves as board and community liason.

New West Theatre employs a Financial Officer to deal with accounting and
payroll matters.  The company contracts Equity members as Guest Artists.

The ideal General Manager would possess:
-  Demonstrated leadership
-  Passion for developing a theatre company
-  Basic understanding of HR and Alberta labour laws.
-  2 years management experience in the not-for-profit arts sector.
-  A BA, BFA, diploma or equivalent professional experience.
-  Familiarity with PACT (Professional Association of Canadian Theatres)
and CAEA (Canadian Actors' Equity Association).
-  Excellent computer skills in Word and Excel.

This is a full-time position with a flexible work schedule.  Salary is
commensurate with experience.
