Equity honoured director Martha Henry and stage manager Nora Polley with Life Membership, actor Barbara Gordon with the Larry McCance Award and scenographer Susan Benson with Honorary Membership on November 30th at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, Ontario.

Donna Soares of Vancouver, B.C. was named the winner of the 2009 Stage West-Equity Emerging Theatre Artist Award. The Award, and its $2,000 cash prize, is sponsored by Stage West Theatre Restaurants and recognizes an Equity member of three years or less who has made a significant contribution and impression as an artist.
