MacKenzieRo invites submissions for its upcoming project happening at Toronto's Irish Potato Famine Memorial: Ireland Park at Eireann Quay.

Seeking: male actor,  to play an Irish immigrant mid-20's to late 30's,circa 1847.

*Must be comfortable in the physical theatre genre.

**Must be highly competent in an Irish dialect from either Dublin, Belfast, Cork, or the West Country (other regions accepted, but must be a specific and accurate dialect).

Artists of Irish-Canadian descent are strongly encouraged to apply.

Auditions in Toronto only.

Please prepare a short monologue from the Irish repertoire (or a piece from another repertoire that presents an Irish-born character).  Artists may be asked to do a short cold reading.

MacKenzieRo develops new works with a voice to the founding members' Irish heritage and produces established works from the contemporary scripts of Ireland and the UK with a focus on introducing works that are not yet well-known to Canadian audiences. We have a particular interest in the in-yer-face Irish playwrights.  The voice of the Irish in Canada is at the centre of our artistic practice.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
