 University degree in the Arts
*       5 years experience directing an arts organization
The Stirling Festival theatre is a professional theatre company located
in the village of Stirling in eastern Ontario. It is a registered
no-for-profit charity. The theatre functions year round with a
combination of its own productions and drop-in shows.
The Artistic Director is responsible for artistic decisions including
planning, and implementing programming and hiring of artistic staff,
This position reports to the Board and works closely with the Managing
Director. This position requires a variable commitment of time. There
will be periods of intense work during preparation of productions
mounted by the SFT and periods when a lesser commitment of time is
required.
Duties include but are no limited to:
*       Direction of artistic activities
*       Planning and implementation for all productions, concerts,
drop-in shows, dinner theatre, theatre classes
*       Representation of the company to the larger theatre community
*       Consultation with the Managing Director
*       Participation in strategic and operational planning

Salary: commensurate with experience.
Position to start: late 2009 early 2010
