Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: William Shakespeare's Macbeth

Repercussion Theatre is holding auditions for Montreal based Equity and non-Equity members for it's upcoming 2011 Shakespeare-in-the-Park tour in Montreal.

Total Contract: 7-8 weeks
Rehearsals: mid-June to Mid July
Performances: Mid-July to late August
Submission Deadline: January 7th, 2011.

If selected to audition, please prepare:
* A Shakespearean Monologue
* A scene assigned to you from Macbeth

Additional information:
We are casting the following primary roles (please note all actors will be required to play multiple roles):

Duncan: King of Scotland: male, aged 45 to 60, learned, noble, gentle
Malcolm: his older son: male, aged 20 to 35, a young version of his father
Lady Macbeth: female, aged 30 to 40, childless, sharp, seductive
Banquo: general of the King's army: male, aged 30 to 45, warrior, honest, salt of the earth
Macduff: male, 30 to 45, valiant, sensitive, rival to Macbeth
Lennox: female, aged 25 to 35, insightful, loyal, noble
Ross: Macduff's cousin: male, aged 25 to 40, turns against Macbeth
Fleance: son to Banquo: boy, aged10 to 15
Ensemble: variety of roles ideal for interns or student actors.

All roles are open to actors of all ethnicities. For non-equity artists, priority will be given to students currently studying at, or recently graduated from theatre school and those who have classical theatre experience or training.

Final year theatre school students who will participate in the QDF General Auditions need not submit their resumes.
