THE 'AUDITION PROJECT' - APRIL 19 & 20 - HALIFAX, NS

Professional theatre artists in Canada have long identified a fundamental need for more and better audition opportunities and have been calling for greater access to artistic directors, from coast to coast, north to south. 

Canadian Actors' Equity Association (Equity) and the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT) are jointly answering that call with the creation of 'The Audition Project.' 

This unique pilot project will assemble 15 directors and artistic directors from across Canada to audition professional Canadian artists on April 19 and 20 at the Dalhousie Arts Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Audition registration is now open to open to members of Equity in the Atlantic Region (Newfoundland/Labrador, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia) in good standing, and non-members who self-identify as Aboriginal or as a visible minority or as part of the ethno-racial community, who reside in the Atlantic region, and who also self-identify as a professional artist or are in the process of becoming a professional theatre artist.

Every eligible artist who registers for an audition by March 21 is guaranteed access to an audition.

Auditions still available as of March 22 will be opened to eligible artists across the country, so Equity members are encouraged follow "Audition Project' updates online and through 'e-drive.'
