Below please find a notice from IATSE Local 461.

Members under contract to the Shaw Festival are advised that they are
expected to render services as per their contractual obligations. They
are free, of course, to show their support for their colleagues if they
choose to do so but must be sure to do it on regularly scheduled breaks
or during meal periods so as not to disrupt their normal work day.

Senior business rep Ken Burns will be on hand to answer any questions or
concerns that members may have.

As you are all aware, the Shaw Festival locked out the 16 members of the
new Facilities unit of IATSE Local 461, and the other two units voted
overwhelmingly to strike in support of their brothers and sisters.  Now
all 170 are walking the picket line and need our support.  

There will be a rally on Wednesday, March 17th, in support of the
members of Local 461. 

For Niagara-area members:
We are asking members from the area to show their support and arrive
between 8:00am and 10:00am.  

See below for location.  Lunch will be served.

For Toronto members:
The IATSE will be sending at least one bus of supporters from Toronto.
Information for the Rally Bus is as follows:

Arrival Time:      Please arrive no later than 7:45am on Wednesday
morning.  Bus leaves at 8:00am sharp

Location:           
Parking Lot 6(J), at the west end of the CNE grounds (Lakeshore &
British Columbia Dr.), behind Medieval Times

Parking:            
Please identify yourself as "IA Crew on Bus Trip", as the CNE is kindly
providing the parking for us at no charge.

The bus is scheduled to arrive at the Shaw Festival by 10:00am and will
join Local 461 at the rally for a couple of hours.  Lunch will be
served.  

We will depart in the early afternoon and should be back in Toronto for
mid to late afternoon.

Shaw Location:
We will be meeting in front of the Festival Theatre, 10 Queen's Parade,
Niagara-on-the-Lake.

This is the main theatre at the Shaw, and is located at Queen's Parade
and Wellington, across from the Niagara-on-the-Lake General Hospital.
