LEWIS WHITE: 30s/40s physically strong and relatively prosperous,
'Overseer of the Poor' struggling to do the right thing ALICE WHITE:
30s, torn between her conscience and devotion to her husband TOM ROACH:
50s/60s, woodsman, owner of paupers, small but brutish MAGGIE HARVEY:
late 40s/early 50s, kind but her good intentions lead to great moral
conflict MARTIN CONDON: 60s, pauper, spry for his age, purchased and
abused by Roach GEORGE FRANCIS TRAIN: 50s, wealthy American editor,
showman, orator and self-appointed crusader for poor PETER FRASER: early
20s, mill worker and court clerk with legal ambitions ALEX MACKAY: 50s,
manager of local hotel and often-reluctant town magistrate (note:
"MacKay" rhymes with "high" not "hay")
Halifax, NS: Neptune Theatre, Friday, June 10, 9-5 p.m. Toronto, ON:
Tarragon Theatre, Monday, June 13 - Thursday, June 16, 10-6 p.m.
Actors will be asked to prepare sides from the chosen plays.
Equity members and New Brunswickers will be given priority. Only those
chosen for an audition will be contacted. Thank you in advance for your
submissions.
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
