Alberta Ballet is excited to offer a new opportunity for a Ballet Master with professional experience. 
The ideal candidate will be highly experienced as an accomplished professional dancer in wide-ranging repertoire and will possess significant experience teaching professional, classically-trained dancers in a variety of styles. This position falls under the artistic direction of Jean Grand-Maître, one of Canada's most innovative and accomplished choreographers. 

The Position 

Alberta Ballet's 2011-2012 season commences late August and runs through to June 2012 with nearly 60 performances comprised of exciting tours and company premieres. 

The Ballet Master position is a seasonal fulltime 42 week contract with possible extensions, extended health benefits and paid vacation. Alberta Ballet offers a competitive compensation package to commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities 

Duties of the Ballet Master include:

*           Teaching and rehearsing the Company's 30 professional dancers;

*           Advising the Artistic Director in development and implementation of policies, procedures and objective for the department;

*           Maintaining artistic records and files;

*           Opportunity to appear as principal character artist;

*           Produce and circulate the daily rehearsal schedule and casting;

*           Coordinating the rehearsal activities of guest choreographers, teachers and other artists working with the dancers.
