Additional information:
Western Canada Theatre is holding auditions in Vancouver for our
production of THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. Music &
Lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin. Directed by Ashlie
Corcoran. Artistic Director Daryl Cloran will be in attendance, as well
as Musical Director Steven Greenfield.
Contract Dates: April 2nd - May 5th, 2012 (Potential holdover until
May 12th)
Please note this production will be performing in our 150 seat studio
theatre.
The majority of the roles are "children" competing in the Spelling Bee.
These roles will all be performed by adults: Chip Tolentino, Logainne
Schwartzandgrubenniere, Leaf Coneybear, William Barfee, Marcy Park, and
Olive Ostrovsky.
Additionally, there are two "adult" roles: Rona Lisa Perretti and Mitch
Mahoney
*Please note: the role of Vice Principal Douglas Panch has been cast.
Interested applicants are requested to submit their headshot and resume
via email to: heather at wctlive.ca. Please ensure that your vocal range
is indicated on your resume.
Deadline for submissions is Friday, August 5, 2011.
Vancouver Auditions are Monday, August 22, 2011.
Successful applicants will be given a song selection from the show to
prepare for the audition.
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
