GENERAL AUDITIONS - THEATRE GARGANTUA - TORONTO

Founded in 1992 Theatre Gargantua's productions meld daring, evocative
physicality, bold, imagistic sets, striking original vocal work and the
innovative use of emerging media and video technologies.  A core
ensemble, enriched by invited guest artists (both established and
emerging), work collaboratively to build each new project from the
ground up in several phases over 2 years in a creative structure we
refer to as a "cycle". Since its inception, 9 cycles have been
completed. The company has garnered 27 Dora nominations, including
Outstanding Production, Outstanding New Play, Outstanding Direction,
Outstanding Music and Outstanding Set & Lighting Design, winning three.
The company has toured works provincially, nationally and
internationally to critical acclaim. 

Performers interested in working with the company should be in very good
physical condition, able to sing well (please indicate range) and have a
strong interest in creating original, innovative theatre. Our General
Auditions will focus on the development piece for the 10th cycle of new
work; The Justice Project, which will correspond with Theatre
Gargantua's 20th season. Rehearsals and performances will take place in
the fall of 2012.
