A MESSAGE FROM EQUITY'S PRESIDENT - NATIONAL COUNCIL NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN

Equity is owned by its members, almost 6,000 of them from coast to coast, and the overall shape and product of this Association is determined by those members.
 
Putting this into practice presents some obvious challenges. We can't easily gather 5,800+ people in one place to vote, and if we tried to poll the entire membership each month on all the various things that need deciding, well, you can imagine what a boondoggle that would be.
 
Through the Constitution, the membership has created a Council, comprised entirely of members, and authorized it to govern the organization on behalf of the full membership.

Once every three years, the membership of Equity renews its Council through election. Your choice of a Council is a fundamental membership right, and perhaps the most important Equity-related choice you will be called upon to make. The decisions you make through this election process will shape your professional association for the next three years.
 
Please take the time to read the nomination brochure and form available at http://www.caea.com/EquityWeb/NewsAndEvents/News/2012/Election/ElectionNominationFlyer.pdf, and give serious thought to serving your fellow members as a Councillor. Additional information on Councillor responsibilities and the elections schedule is posted on Equity's website at http://www.caea.com.
 
If running for Council is not an activity that you are able to take on, consider who among your colleagues would be a good representative, and approach him or her with an offer to nominate them as a candidate.

Council needs excellent Councillors, and the membership needs, and deserves, an excellent Council. This is your opportunity to help make that happen.
