2012-2015 CTA NOW UP FOR RATIFICATION BY EQUITY MEMBERSHIP

The proposed amendments to the 2012-2015 Canadian Theatre Agreement (CTA) are now subject to ratification by the affected Equity membership. 

Ratification packages, including a voter instruction letter, a copy of the proposed material changes to the CTA, a fee booklet identifying proposed fees for 2012-2015 and an explanatory letter, have now been mailed to Equity members in good standing who worked under the CTA during the 2009-2012 term.

Voting for the 2012-2015 CTA will be by electronic methods only. Telephone and Internet voting opens Tuesday, June 5 and closes on Thursday, June 21. Only those votes cast prior to 5:00 p.m. PT on June 21 will be counted. The results of the CTA ratification will be announced on e-drive and on EQUITYONLINE (http://www.caea.com) on Friday, June 22, 2012.

Any eligible voter who does not receive a ballot by Friday, June 8, 2012 is encouraged to contact Equity's National Office either by email (communications at caea.com) or by phone (1-800-387-1856 or 416-867-9165 in Toronto) for assistance.

Pending a successful ratification, the new CTA fee and monetary amount increases will take effect on June 25, 2012 and the remainder of the material changes will come into effect on December 31, 2012. The 2012-2015 CTA will remain in force until June 28, 2015.

RATIFICATION SCHEDULE
- Thursday, May 31, 2012 - CTA Ratification voting kit including detailed voting instructions mailed out to eligible Equity members
- Tuesday, June 5, 2012 - Voting by telephone and Internet begins at 9:00 a.m. ET
- Friday, June 8, 2012 - Members should contact Voter HelpLine (1-800-387-1856) if ratification voting kit not received by mail
- Thursday, June 14, 2012 - Last day to be enumerated for ratification vote
- Thursday, June 21, 2012 - Last day to vote. Voting closes at 5:00 p.m. PT
- Friday, June 22, 2012 - CTA ratification results announced on EQUITYONLINE and by e-drive EQUIFLASH
