The Canadian College of Performing Arts (CCPA) is owned and operated by
the Canadian Heritage Arts Society (CHAS). CHAS is registered as a
not-for-profit society as well as a charity. CCPA is a dynamic
institution dedicated to excellence in performing arts training.   The
Canadian College of Performing Arts offers quality training in a broad
spectrum of skills which will prepare the students for careers in the
performance arts locally, nationally or internationally. The College
provides a stimulating, positive and constructive environment where
students are encouraged to develop high standards of work ethics and
conduct.

Additional information:
CCPA is currently accepting applications for a term, part-time position
of Voice and Speech/Dialect Instructor in the Acting department. The
term dates are September 5, 2012 to April 28, 2013, with the possibility
of extension.
Reporting to the Chair of Acting, the Instructor is responsible for
delivering curriculum effectively and providing feedback to students.
Basic Voice is an introduction to the speaking voice, where students
learn that the actor's voice is a vital experience involving the body,
the imagination, the intellect, and the emotions. Class work includes
breathing, relaxation, range, and resonance, study of dialects as well
as using language and text to explore personal habits that inhibit full
vocal expression.

Qualifications:
*       Demonstrates an understanding of the learning profile of young
adults entering the Performing Arts and film industries.
*       Ability to lead workshops, lectures and seminars.
*       Excellent communication, organizational, time management and
interpersonal skills.
*       Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
*       A team player.

Education/Experience:
*       Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree (or equivalent)
and/or 3 years industry experience.
*       Portfolio demonstrating a high caliber of professional work.
*       Minimum 3 years teaching experience with post-secondary
students.
