Chariot Cities Collective is looking to cast 2 male actors for their upcoming Vancouver Fringe Festival Mainstage musical production of The Chariot Cities, by Harrison Mooney and Brian Binnema, directed by Andy Toth.
JACK: The vociferous and high-strung patriarch of the Stackhouse family. Jack has been touring and recording music relentlessly for thirty years - he never stops trying to entertain. Appears to be in his 40-50s.
JULIAN: Jack and Wendy's only son, Julian, is dour, ridden with perpetual angst. He has a quick wit and is prone to bouts of smarm. Julian's attire is often tight and wrinkled. He is a drug user and it shows in his face. Julian is gay, but not flamboyant. A folk musician (think Rufus Wainwright). Late twenties.
Actors are asked to prepare 1 song from the classic or contemporary folk repertoire and are asked to self-accompany, as all actors will be required to play an instrument. A piano will be provided, but other instruments are welcome. Please submit your headshot and resume with a list of any musical instruments you play, and at what level, to Shantini Klaassen at thechariotcities at gmail.com
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
