Actors should be available during the month of April for a couple of dates (a reading, media/promo, music recording). The bulk of rehearsals will be in June. This is a musical that will take place during the Fringe Festival. Participants will be sharing equally in all the profits from the box office.
Nobody's Idol is a musical parody that takes place on the set of a famous televised singing competition. The reality show boasts a line-up of afflicted people with a song in their heart. Not only do all the characters on this show have a problem, they're also going to sing about it and then compete for the grandest prize of them all: a lifetime supply of fame.
Casting the following roles:
Fame (m) ageless High tenor (pop r&b style)
Derek (m) 35-45 Male rock voice Strong voice, with 1980/1990s rasp
Amber (f) 20s Strong pop belt
Jay-B (m) rapper
Chantelle - (f) 19-21 Mezzo, pop style
Ty-Real - (m) 35-40 Afro-Canadian, comfortable with impressions, Baritone pop R&B
Frances - (f) 20s Afro-Canadian, soprano pop style
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
