Additional information: The Homestead Theatre Company will be holding
auditions for their upcoming production of Empty Boxes, a new play by AJ
Laflamme.

Audition Dates: Wednesday, January 23, 2013 - 7-10pm
                Sunday, January 27, 2013 - 12-5pm

audition date in your submission.

Deadline to Submit: Friday, January 20, 2013 - 5pm

Those selected for an audition should prepare 1 contemporary monologue
and be prepared to read from the script.  Callbacks will be held on
Sunday, February 3, 2013.  This is a profit-sharing contract.

Empty Boxes will be performed at the Red Sandcastle Theatre May 30, 2013
- June 9, 2013.

SUMMARY:
When moving: what are the things that you take with you and what do you
leave behind?  Empty Boxes looks at Kevin and Sarah; a couple that has
decided to part ways after a long relationship because Sarah's career is
taking her to New York and Kevin's remains in Toronto.  We find the
couple in the midst of packing up the apartment and dividing the pieces
of their past life together.  Throughout the play, Kevin and Sarah's
memories take the audience through their first meeting, moving in and
the struggles two young professionals face while trying to balance their
relationship and careers. 

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:
Sarah - (mid to late twenties, any ethnicity) Eccentric actress, level
headed, dreamer, moving to New York, was dating Kevin

Kevin - (late twenties, any ethnicity) Focused banker, realist, good
education, clean cut, was dating Sarah

Past Sarah - (twenties, same ethnicity as Sarah) Dreamer trying to
become an actress, works as waitress, from low-income family

Past Kevin - (mid twenties, same ethnicity as Kevin) Pragmatic banker
from a well-off family, working until he can retire, focused

Adrienne - (twenties, any ethnicity) Waitress, fun loving, old roommate
of Sarah and best friend

Baker - (twenties, any ethnicity) Banker trying to become a firefighter,
best friend and old roommate of Kevin, trying to find what makes him
happy

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
