UPDATED INSURANCE APPLICATION CLAIM FORMS

Redesigned and simplified fill-in-able claim forms are now available online (http://www.caea.com/insurance). 
Please note, these new claim forms may now be saved electronically for your records. 

ACUPUNCTURE IS NOW REGULATED IN ONTARIO

As of April 1, 2013, acupuncturists and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioners became a regulated health profession in Ontario. This means that practitioners must be regulated by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario, the "College" (CTCMPAO) is a self-regulatory body that will ensure these practitioners meet licensing and other professional requirements.

Acupuncture in Newfoundland and Labrador has been regulated since 2012. Practitioners in both Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador were given a grace period ending July 1, 2013 to complete the registration requirements with their respective Colleges.

After July 1, 2013, regardless of the date of service, any claims for treatment from non-registered acupuncture practitioners will be declined.

If you currently visit an acupuncturist for treatment, ask whether your practitioner is registered. If they are registered, your claims will continue to be eligible as outlined in your plan booklet. If you need to find an acupuncturist who is registered, you can check the College's online registry (www.ctcmpao.on.ca).
