Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
The frank theatre company, formerly known as Screaming Weenie Productions, is based in Vancouver and is an incorporated non-profit society in British Columbia (registration S-44774) and a federally registered charity (86172 8061 RR0001).
Its mission is to produce and promote queer and sex positive performance, facilitating a stronger Queer community by creating and encouraging the performing arts and artists. We are committed to the development of sexual and/or gender queer artists, and are actively inclusive of all gender identities, sexualities and ethnicities.

The frank theatre company is seeking to cast the following roles for our two workshops, taking place as part of Clean Sheets:
Workshop of Inna di Wardrobe:
Celeste:
Mid 20's, Black, moves between a Jamaican accent and a Canadian one, queer, femme-identified, resilient, rebellious, exhibits a devil-may care attitude that when challenged, reveals a startling vulnerability, which she tries to protect my lashing out
Gloria:
Approx. age 50, Black, middle class Jamaican woman, single mother/divorcee, matriarch, mother to Celeste and Dawn, Jamaican accent throughout, conservative in her world views, fairly controlling and tries to exert an iron hand over her daughters.
Pops:
Approx 75, Black, Jamaican accent a must, father to Gloria, grandfather to Dawn and Celeste, a kindly, gentle older man, dotes on his granddaughters and often joins them in gently chiding their mother, inevitably takes their side against her, play him with a mischievous twinkle in the eye.
Workshop of All In: seeking six actors to play culturally/ability diverse characters.
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
