Urban tales by local francophone teens
Directed by PIERRE SIMPSON

November 18 to 22, 2013, including school matinees.
Rehearsals in Toronto start October 21st with a possible one-week workshop in August or September.

Théâtre français engages Equity members under Union des Artistes contracts.

ROLES:

5 CONTEURS (STORYTELLERS):

GABRIEL/LUC Male, plays 15-30
Gab: Light-hearted, mildly adventurous yet exasperated rural teen. Motocross fan.
Luc: cliché heartthrob in popular soap opera.
Open ethnicity.

CONTEUSE, Female, plays 15-40
Sensitive, insightful Arab-Canadian (age TBC) recounts a traumatic visit to her native middle-eastern country.

SONIA/BELLAC, Female, plays 15-30
Sonia: colourful, lively young woman (age TBC) obsessed with her favourite soap opera's leading man.
Bellac (male): wreckless, very unlucky teen daredevil.

CATHERINE, Female, plays 15-18
Witty, sarcastic, unsettled tomboy shares her opinions on over-consumption and her tree-hugging mother's battle with illness.

"HEARTBREAKER", Female, plays 15-25
Feisty, intelligent, manipulative teen coaches her fellow heartbreakers online.

Priority will be given to actors who have not been seen by Théâtre français in the past two years. Actors already known to TfT may express their interest to zinspires at theatrefrancais.com

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
