EQUITY BYLAW UPDATE

Equity's Council encourages all members to be familiar with the rules
that govern our Association. Electronic copies of the current bylaws are
always available in the "Document Library" section of EQUITYONLINE
(www.caea.com), and are available in print format upon request to the
Association.

At its meetings of October 27, 2013 and March 24, 2014, Council approved
the following bylaw changes:

Articles 90 and 93: were updated to reflect the new dues rates approved
in the recent referendum. 

Articles 8 and 94: dealing with dues for non-resident members, were also
updated to point to the new rates.

Article 106: was amended to change the pool of members eligible to vote
on the ratification of the Canadian Theatre Agreement (CTA).

Going forward, members in good standing who have worked under any
theatre agreement providing for minimum scale fees, during the six-year
period ending with the expiry date of the agreement, will now
automatically be eligible to vote in the CTA ratification.

In addition, any member in good standing who is not included in the
six-year pool may now also register to vote. Registration will begin six
months before the expiry date of the CTA, and extend until the
anticipated date for close of negotiations. Advance notice regarding
registration will be provided in plenty of time for members to get on
the list.

Note that these changes in eligibility and registration do not affect
the voting pool for the Stratford Addendum to the CTA, nor any other
agreement.

Finally, this bylaw now clarifies that the voting pool for all
ratifications may be automatically extended to any group of members to
be newly addressed by the incoming agreement.

Article 130.1: this new bylaw covering Council elections requires
publication of the winner of each race, the total number of votes cast
in each race, and the vote count for each candidate.
