welcomes submissions from artists of all diverse backgrounds.

Additional information:

Sheatre is looking for actors in their 20's (or late teens) able to play
teenagers in an interactive play that addresses homophobia and promotes
inclusion.  

This award-winning TYA Theatre Forum production will tour Ontario
schools in April and May.  

It's a party! When Tommy asks Zack to the school dance, he is taunted
and beaten up by the "cool" kids, betrayed by Zack and unsupported by
his family. His thoughts turn to suicide and Zack is tormented by guilt.
In this interactive drama about homophobia for grades 5 - 12, audience
members help Tommy to confront his tormentors and change the situation
for the better.  

Characters:
Tommy:  male, lead, insecure, questioning/gay, coming out for the first
time (can be played by a male or female)
Zack: male, bisexual, friend and romantic interest of Tommy's sister,
Tommy's date
Chris: female, heterosexual, cool girl, a power house, organizing the
school dance
 
Audition Information: 
Strong improvisational skills and singing voice required. Experience
with rural / small towns an asset. Clear criminal record check required.
Driver's license an asset.
 
Audition Instructions: 2 contrasting contemporary monologues - no longer
then 2 minutes each; 1 song; cold reading and improvisation

members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
