Equity announces that bargaining with the National Arts Centre Music
Department for a renewal of the 2014-2018 National Arts Centre Music
Department Agreement (NACMDA) has successfully concluded.
Equity Members in good standing who worked under the NAC Music
Department Agreement between July 1, 2008 and December 2014 are eligible
to vote on the ratification of the proposed changes. A ratification vote
will commence in early January 2015.
Equity and the National Arts Centre Music Department entered into formal
negotiations in November 2014 which continued thereafter by email.
Improvements include:
* Fee increases of 0.5% in each year of the agreement with all other

that rate for the duration of the Agreement.
* Creation of a minimum of 20-week engagement guarantee for a Season
Stage Manager.
* An increase in the coaching fee when engaged for Educational and Youth
Programming activities.
Pending a successful ratification, the new terms of the Agreement will
be retroactively in effect as of September 1, 2014.
