Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
We encourage submissions from artists of diverse cultures, and seek to
cast this production in a way that reflects the diversity of Toronto's
communities.

Additional information:
We are currently casting a site-specific, queer production of Romeo and
Juliet. The production will be produced under Equity's Artists'
Collective Policy and will be a point-based, profit share system. Please
submit a headshot and resume indicating union status, as well a brief
letter of interest. Please also include any stage combat and/or musical
training.

Please include your name and role(s) you wish to be considered for in
the subject line.

MERCUTIO - Male or male-identified. 25-35. Stage combat training an
asset.
BENVOLIO - Any gender, 20-30. Stage combat training an asset.
CAPULET - Male or male-identified. 40-60. Conservative, upper class
public figure.
LADY CAPULET - Female or female-identified. 30-50. Wife to Capulet,
Step-Mother to Juliet. Very aware of maintaining her public image.
FRIAR LAURENCE - Female or female-identified. 30-60. A progressive
minister and mentor to Romeo. Loosely based on Pastor Nadia Bolz-Weber.
THE NURSE/THE PRINCE - Male or male-identified. 25-40. The Nurse is the
executive assistant to the Capulets. The Prince is a local police
officer trying to keep the peace.
PARIS - Male or male-identified. 20-30. Stage combat training an asset.

Please note that the roles of Romeo, Juliet, and Tybalt have already
been cast.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
