NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE 2014-2017 CANADIAN BALLET AGREEMENT WITH THE RWB
SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDE

Equity announces that bargaining with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet for a
renewal of the 2014-2017 Canadian Ballet Agreement with the RWB has
successfully concluded. 

Equity members in good standing who are currently working under the
agreement are eligible to vote on the ratification of the proposed
changes. A ratification vote will commence shortly. Details will follow
as soon as they are available.

Equity and the RWB entered into formal negotiations in spring 2014.
Bargaining concluded on Monday, May 11, 2014.

Improvements include the creation of new categories of artists including
Replacement Dancers and Character Artists, improvements in publicity and
promotion provisions and an additional 1% increase to the engager's RRSP
contribution. As well, Apprentice Dancer (Equity member) and Corps de
Ballet minimum fees will increase by 3.25% in each of the next three
years. Minimum fees for Principal and Soloist dancers will increase 3%
in each year of the Agreement.

Pending a successful ratification, the new terms of the Agreement will
come into effect July 1, 2014.
