Additional information: 
Triple A Productions is looking for performers to participate in a production this August as a part of the SummerWorks Theatre Festival.

Rehearsals: June 16th and July 31st. Festival: August 7th-17th. Exact dates to be provided later on. This project will operate under the Equity Festival Contract. 

Summary of the Play:
When Nour, a widow, falls in love with Adil, she gets pregnant and is forced to turn to his mother to help abort the baby. The Widow depicts the fragility of widowhood in modern day Iraq, revealing the hypocrisy of the so called “Islamic” societies where women are severely repressed.

Characters: 
Nour: 30-31. A widow of whose husband died during the 2003 American invasion of Iraq
Adil: 28-29. A young professor whose secret relationship with Nour becomes increasingly complicated. 
Um Adil: 55-60. Adil’s mother. She is a typical Iraqi mother, educated but a housewife
Father: 55-60. Adil’s father. He is pretentious and cunning. 
Ali and Ahmed, 18-22. Doubled roles.
All characters are of Middle Eastern descent.

Audition Details: 
Saturday, May 24th. 4-8pm. Location TBD. 
Please prepare a one-minute piece (monologue or poem) and be prepared to read a short scene from the play. 

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
