ARTISTS' COLLECTIVE POLICY, FESTIVAL POLICY & INDIE 2.0, REVIEW AND UPDATING
--------------------------------------------
Over the last six months the new Equity Independent & Small-Scale Theatre Resource Committee has been reviewing the performance of the new indie policies and soliciting member opinions from across the country. The Committee has now recorded its findings in two reports covering the Artists' Collective Policy, Festival Policy and the INDIE 2.0. These reports will be presented to Equity Council at their June 2014 meeting. Once accepted by Council the reports will be provided to Equity's Executive Director to offer assistance in the continued development and improvement of these policies to the benefit of Equity members.
In order to facilitate the work of Equity Council and staff, the review and collection of information regarding the Artists' Collective Policy, Festival Policy, and the INDIE 2.0 has been extended to July 30, 2014.
Equity members are encouraged to provide suggestions for changes or improvements to the Artists' Collective Policy, Festival Policy and the INDIE 2.0 by email to agreements at caea.com or by phone to 1-800-387-1856 (416-867-9165 in Toronto). Members may email Executive Director Arden R. Ryshpan directly with any notes or proposals at execdir at caea.com. Suggestions from members-at-large must be received by July 30, 2014.
The updated Artists' Collective Policy, Festival Policy and the INDIE 2.0, resulting from member consultation and Council direction, will now be available to Equity members no later than August 27, 2014.
