Carousel Theatre for Young People welcomes submissions from artist of all cultural backgrounds.

Additional information:
Carousel Theatre for Young People invites submissions for auditions for the new musical James and the Giant Peach (music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, book by Timothy Allen McDonald).

Contract dates are November 10, 2014 - January 4, 2015

We are seeking triple-threat musical theatre performers who have a passion for Theatre for Young Audiences.  Puppetry is an asset. At this time we are casting the following characters:

Spiker- James' nasty aunt
Sponge- James' other nasty Aunt
Grasshopper- A fatherly creature (special skill: plays the fiddle)
Centipede- a boisterous creature with a good heart
Lady Bug- A compassionate, ladylike creature
Spider - A warm, acrobatic-like creature
Earthworm- An anxious creature

*All actors except James play multiple roles.

Auditions for the role of James (to be played by a child actor) will occur at a later date.

Actors selected for an audition will be asked to prepare two contrasting songs from the new musical theatre repertoire (Pasek & Paul, Joe Iconis, Adam Gwon, Kerrigan-Lowdermilk, Salzman & Cunningham, etc.), as well as participate in a dance call.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
