Additional information: 
The Empty Room Collective is holding auditions for its production of
"Melancholy Play" by Sarah Ruhl directed by Jeffrey Pufahl.  

We are looking for comedic actors with singing ability. Familiarity with
Viewpoint and Suzuki Training is a plus. 

Frank (male 20s-30s): a tailor.  A bit old fashioned. A Gentleman.

Frances (female 20's-30's): a hairdresser. Practical yet sensual. Her
previous work was in physics, but working with hair makes her happy.
Lives with Joan. 

Joan (female 30's-40s): a British Nurse. Frances and Joan have been
together a long time. Direct. Strong carriage. Sure of everything, until
she's not. 

Lorenzo the Unfeeling (male 30s-50s): a psychiatrist. Has an
unidentifiable Italian accent. Dashingly handsome. Oddly and
disconcertingly cheerful.  

Julian: a cello player. Someone from another world. Must be able to play
the cello well.  

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Please prepare a contemporary monologue and a short a-capella song.
Sides will be provided for callbacks.

PRODUCTION DETAILS
WHERE: The Collective Space 
WHEN: Jan 29-Feb 8th

Rehearsals will take place in January 2015.  15-20 hrs/wk.  The Empty
Room will be operating under the Collective Agreement, and will be
working in a profit share scenario after production costs.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
