CHARACTER AND VOCAL BREAKDOWN
No children will be hired, the parts are all for adults. Strong
musicianship and the ability to read music is a must.
PRINCE: (The Character is a boy played by a female to look like a young
boy) Female Persistent, innocent, naive & knowing: a little bit like
Yoda
Light, clear, boy treble chorister sound (becoming more vocally
androgynous in act 2).
A below middle C to G 2 above mid C. Mix/ head
PILOT: (Male) Rugged, masculine, stong
High baritone to A abv mid C. MT with rocky edge.
FOX: (Female) grounded, enlightened and free, with a touch of caution
Pop belt/ mix to F 2 abv mid C
SNAKE: (Female) - beguiling, deceptive & sophisticatedly continental
Low, throaty, french chanteuse D# blw mid C to C abv mid C. N.B. Her
role is often (though not consistently!) written 8va.
ROSE: (Female) demanding, yet fragile Latin diva
Spanish, operatic soprano (authentic!). Easy top Cs and dark chest
voice.
ENSEMBLE (Dancers and Singers)
The ensemble needs to be versatile and able to sing in a number of
styles ranging from pop BVs to legit choral.
Advanced dance ability with a strong foundation in ballet, modern and
contemporary dance.
Sopranos (to D), Mezzos, Altos, Tenors, Baritones, Basses.

Those selected for an audition will be contacted and will have music
from the play supplied.
