Additional information: 
Black Theatre Workshop is looking for 4 performers for a touring production of Binti's Journey, directed by Lynda Hill. The show will tour to Montreal schools for Black History Month in February 2016. We are looking for adult performers who can believably portray teenagers.
 
Binti Phiri - Black. 13 year old star of a popular radio drama. She is spunky, precocious, and self-assured.
 
Junie Phiri - Black. Binti's 16 year old sister. Diligent, serious, and practical, she has shouldered the weight of many responsibilities since her Mother's death 6 years ago. 
 
Kwasi Phiri - Black. Ttheir 14 year old brother. He is creative, artistic, and a bit of a dreamer. 
 
Memory - Black. 13 year old girl and mother of an infant, she was taken in and cared for by Gogo, Binti's Grandmother and now she keeps the household running and everyone in line. She is serious, strong, and has no time for the likes of Binti. 
 
Actors are asked to prepare one monologue, 2-3 minutes maximum, and one song - a ballad, including 1 verse and 1 chorus.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
